About this product
Basic tooltips come in dark and light themes with 12 arrow placements, from top-start to left-end, which accounts for 24 of the 30 variants. The other six are rich tooltips with a title, body text and an optional link or button, for feature hints and onboarding callouts. Text wraps at a 240 px maximum width, and a property hides the arrow when it is not needed.
Showing exact placement in mockups settles questions that otherwise come up in review, such as which side a label opens on beside an icon button or a truncated table cell. Shadow, radius and colors are set as shared styles, so restyling every tooltip takes one pass in Figma or Sketch.
